Ted is a 2012 American comedy film, directed, produced, and co-written by Seth MacFarlane, who stars in it with Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. The supporting cast includes Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale, Jessica Stroup, and Patrick Warburton. The film is the feature-length directorial debut of MacFarlane, produced by Media Rights Capital, and distributed by Universal Pictures.

John makes a Christmas miracle happen by bringing his one and only friend to life, his teddy bear. The two grow up together and John must then choose to stay with his girlfriend or keep his friendship with his crude and extremely inappropriate teddy bear, Ted.

In 1985, in a suburb south of Boston, John Bennett (Bretton Manley) was a lonely child, who dearly wished for his new Christmas gift, a large teddy bear he names Teddy ("Ted"), to come to life to be his friend. The wish succeeds with a falling star and Ted (Zane Cowans) became a fully mobile sentient being. John's parents Joe (Ralph Garman) and Gina got over the shock, word of the miracle spread, and Ted was briefly a celebrity.
